As subscriber expectations for unbounded mobility, seamless availability, no-wait response, and unlimited options for applications and content rise – a legacy network limits the ability of a service provider to react quickly to these market needs with new service offering.  Service Providers need standardized appliances that can serve any required network function (NF) and these appliances should be able to run multiple instances of the network functions in virtual machines (VMs).
