The Internet of Things (IoT) plays a key role in the monitoring, supply chain, facility management, and manufacturing processes for many organizations — and use is on the rise. Although many IoT deployments are mature, a large number have experienced security breaches that were costlier than breaches to other parts of the enterprise IT infrastructure. And there can be gaps in security between infrastructure devices, network connections, web applications, and collection and analysis tools — because many IoT projects are handled outside of an IT-managed network or application deployment.
